post Category: Blog Content post postFebruary 5, 2008

Before I built my very first blog - “InsuranceMaze Blog” I did some research on insurance blogs just to see how they looked and what information they contained. I was actually surprised first of all by the number of insurance blogs on the web and secondly by the different types of information they contained.

Insurance Blogs Fall Into One Of Four Categories

  • “AdSense” Insurance Blogs
  • It is very obvious that these insurance blogs were designed for the sole purpose of displaying Google AdSense ads and that’s all.
Don’t get me wrong, AdSense is an excellent way to make some extra money, but these ads should compliment our blogs and not dominate them.

  • “Copy Cat” Insurance Blogs
  • These insurance blogs are really a trip! In fact, you may find some of your work on these blogs. There is nothing wrong with displaying an article from another source on your insurance blog from time to time (giving proper credit), but do it in excess and you will find your blog on page 235 of Google. I don’t think these blogs contain any original material.

  • “Quote Engine” Blogs
  • These insurance blogs were designed to display auto, home, life, health and other insurance quote engines. There are a few Google ads and that’s about it. There is very little useful information that I could find.

  • “Quality” Insurance Blogs
  • There are many insurance blogs on the internet that are kept up to date with quality, informative, and useful insurance related information. Thank goodness, I finally found an insurance blog category I liked.

Quality Insurance Blog Content Is Very Important

If we are going to take the time to write Posts in our insurance blog, then we should take the time to do it as professional as we know how. We should always proof read our post for misspelled words (if you find any here please let me know, I blew up spellcheck).
