post Category: Google AdSense post postFebruary 17, 2008

The addition of Google AdSense Ads to your insurance blog will make it productive in generating income. The “Help” section of your AdSense account has volumes of information as far as, what type of ads are most popular, where to place the ads on the page, etc. We aren’t going to get into all of that here. Our goal is to place an AdSense ad on your blog page.

SUGGESTION: When I am working on my insurance blog I have three windows open on my desktop:

  1. Internet Explorer
  2. Firefox
  3. Notepad

I use two web browsers because it makes it easier for me to have my insurance blog open in one and then be able to browse the web on the other. You can do it with just one, but sometimes, I make a mistake and close the wrong one. You should be able to have this blog “open” while you are working on your blog.

“Notepad” is always open, because I have saved all my AdSense ads here and they are easily accessible.

IMPORTANT: You must realize that you are limited to the amount of space in which you can display “posts”, as well as, “ads”. These WordPress templates provide a text area of from 450 pixels to 520 pixels. A Google AdSense ad that is 728 pixels wide will not work on these pages. So, when you are selecting your ads, remember this constraint.
Also, your “Content” ads will be relevant to the topic of your blog or blog page, so make the addition of AdSense ads the last part of creating your blog page.

OK, Let’s Place An Ad On Your Blog Page

There are two ways of inserting your AdSense ads on your insurance blog pages:

  1. “Pasting” the code directly into the blog page.
  2. Using the AdSense Deluxe plug-in included with your insurance blog template.

Pasting the Ad Code

Let’s suppose that you wanted to place an ad directly below this paragraph by pasting the ad code you have generated in the first step to AdSense and you wanted the ad centered.

You would paste your ad code saved in “Notepad”, like this:

Sometimes these ads are slow to load, but after hitting the ole’ “Refresh” button a couple of times, the ad should appear on your blog page.

Using the AdSense Deluxe plug-in to insert ads.
